Epic Scan was founded in 2000 as an evolution of our initial development company, 3-D LaserVision, which was started in 1995. Epic Scan has been involved with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) since it's inception in the US market. Our Company has been instrumental in the development and manufacture of scanning targets and accessories as well as the implementation of these products in the LlDAR environment. As an early adopter of the technology we have instituted a paradigm shift in the acquisition and implementation of architectural and plant as-built data.

Our key technical team leaders are Carlos Velazquez and Ryan Woodward, with backgrounds in mechanical engineering and computer science. Carlos and Ryan have teamed to produce a unique and unparalleled business model. Having the most tenure in the scanning industry, Carlos has been called upon by LlDAR manufacturers to Beta test both hardware and software prior to release. Our project portfolio encompasses virtually every LlDAR application.

Carlos and Ryan have more onsite practical scanning experience than any other company in the US. Field collection to final deliverables in a number of industrial and architectural applications including; nuclear power plants, petroleum process plants, airport facilities, waste treatment facilities, turbine bays, mining terminals, shipbuilding, hydroelectric plants, as well as many archeological, and government projects. Our teams are security cleared, safety trained for most plant and work environments and they are well versed in all critical security and safety procedures.
